Acoustic insulation for floors
- DEMOLITION
Removal of damaged or detached tiles, or deteriorated parts of the substrate.
- LEVELLING
Levelling with thixotropic cementitious skimming plaster to restore the level of the detached tiles or deteriorated parts of the substrate using products such as RASO for layers from 2 to 10 mm thick, or GAP or GAP-R in layers 3 to 30 mm thick, all by Technokolla.
- INSULATING LAYER
The insulating layer must be in the form of rolls 3 mm thick, such as ISOFONIKO-R by Technokolla. It must lower the noise caused by walking on the floor (in accordance with standard EN ISO 140-8) by 17 dB and must allow ceramic tiles to be fixed on top using cementitious adhesive. The insulating layer must be glued with two-pack polyurethane adhesive such as RS 90 by Technokolla, if the substrate is the old ceramic tile type, or with class C2 FT cementitious adhesive in accordance with EN 12004 such as Technorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorap by Technokolla, if the substrate is the absorbent type, such as a cementitious screed.
- FLOORING
The final layer of tiles must be fixed with class C2 FT cementitious adhesive in accordance with EN 12004, such as Technorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorapechnorap by Technokolla, applied straight on to the insulating layer. The 3-4 mm gap must be grouted with cementitious grouting conforming to class CG2 of EN 13888 such as Technocolors by Technokolla.
The floor-skirting joint must be grouted with silicone sealant such as NEUSIL or ACESIL-310 by Technokolla. To proceed in the correct way, it is advisable to apply the silicone 00before cementitious grouting.
